October 12, 2008 – Road2ACure 2nd Annual Ride and Rally
Road2ACure* launches its official fundraising efforts with Road2ACure The California Ride & Rally. Inspired by the success of the 2007 California Ride for Hope and rally that raised $40,000 for pancreatic cancer research, Chris Calaprice, a 5 year pancreatic and melanoma cancer survivor and continuous chemotherapy patient, along with his wife Jennifer founded Road2ACure with the intention of magnifying their impact. Road2ACure aims to bring awareness and funding to pancreatic cancer, which is the least nationally funded of all major cancers, while being the 4th leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States.
The 2008 ride begins and ends at Grove Park (6968 E Camarillo Springs Rd) in Camarillo, California on October 12 and is followed by a rally at noon where riders and non–riders alike will enjoy BBQ lunch, cold refreshments and live entertainment by the Flailington's, the Voodoo Dogs, and the Guinness world record holder for fastest harmonica player; Nicky Shane.
Rider registration opens at 8:30am. Riders take off at 10:00am through downtown Ventura in a parade designed to bring attention to pancreatic cancer and then continue on a scenic ride along the ocean and through the canyons. Upon their return, the rally complete with vendors, competitions, activities for the kids, raffle prizes, and auction items will be in progress. Online pre–registration is $25 per person, $30 on the day of, and children under 10 are free.

May 1, 2008 – Road2ACure
On May 1st 2008 from 5–pm in Ventura, CA. 71 Palm Restaurant and Ventura Limoncello Company hosted an evening of exquisite cocktails and appetizers, the evening included Chef Didier's phenomenal hors douvres and desserts to accompany this award winning limon liqueur. Live entertainment from Loaded was fantastic. From Road2ACure our deepest thanks and appreciation go out to all of the amazing people who raised over $9,000.00 for Road2ACure.
